Overview

Highway maintenance is both a skilled technical role and a potentially dangerous one. Supervisors have to take care of the health and safety of workers and the integrity of the work site. With a focus on building relationships, monitoring plant and material supplies and preparing work schedules, a highway maintenance supervisor is an important member of the team.

Candidates will be assessed on their ability to carry out these tasks and five more, from a long and varied list of optional units, from preparing drawings to carrying out physical testing. By tailoring the programme to their needs, a candidate can ensure the have the perfect skillset to maximise their value in this role.

Candidate’s will be assessed to the industry recognised National Occupational Standards (NOS) that have been developed by the Sector Skills Council (SSC).
