The correct interpretation of lifting documentation such as Lift Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Lifting Equipment Documentation is essential to safe and accurate work. You will be required to carry out Tool Box talks to pass on the details of the lifts and allocate the work to the slingers (having checked that they are competent to carry out the lifts) and supervise the overall process.
Ensuring that everything is carried out safely and in accordance to planned procedures for the various lifts you will be involved in can reduce costs and improve safety and efficiency.
Candidates will be assessed to the industry recognised National Occupational Standards (NOS) that have been developed by the Sector Skills Council (SSC).
