Overview

Road building and maintenance operatives use a variety of skills every day to ensure the safe and effective repairs can be carried out on roads and motorways. Completing this SVQ enables candidates to prove that they have the practical skills and knowledge required to safely repair, excavate, reinstate and apply finishing to roads and motorways.

Candidate’s will be assessed to the industry recognised National Occupational Standards (NOS) that have been developed by the Sector Skills Council (SSC).

Pass Requirements

To attain the qualification candidates must complete 3 – 5 units in total. This comprises:

  • 2 mandatory units
  • 1 – 3 optional units depending on chosen pathway
