Road Inspectors Course

Overview

This course is intended for both newly appointed and existing local authority road/highway inspector and provides an opportunity for delegates to demonstrate their competency and improve their skills.

Properly trained people are essential, especially in the times where authorities are increasingly faced with difficulties of balancing limited budgets against the long – term consequences of lower levels of maintenance, one which is an increase in the number of civil claims against the authority for compensation for injuries and damage resulting from road/highway defects.

Highway Inspectors training course have been offered before in the UK but this Road Inspectors Training Course is the first one that has been tailored to Scotland specific needs, ways of working for Scotland Local Authorities and Operating Companies.

This course is designated to fulfil the initial training requirements of local authority road/highway inspectors and satisfy the requirements of institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) certification scheme, which will ultimately allow successful candidates to be entered on the National Register of Highway Inspectors.
